Zinc ingot refers to pure zinc, and of course there are impurities, but as a zinc ingot, it has a purity of at least 90%. Application of zinc ingot: It is mainly used in die-casting alloy, battery industry, printing and dyeing industry, pharmaceutical industry, rubber industry, chemical industry, etc. Alloys of zinc and other metals have been widely used in electroplating, spraying and other industries.

Main applications

(1) Galvanized

Zinc has excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, so it is mainly used for the surface coating of steel and steel structural parts (such as galvanized sheet), and is widely used in automobiles, construction, ships, light industry and other industries. In recent years, western countries have begun to directly use zinc alloy plates as roof covering materials, which can be used for up to 120-140 years and can be recycled. The service life of galvanized iron plates for roof materials is generally 5-10 years.

(2) Manufacture of copper alloy materials (such as brass)

Used in the automobile manufacturing and machinery industries. Zinc has suitable mechanical properties. The strength and hardness of zinc itself is not high, but after adding alloy elements such as aluminum and copper, its strength and hardness are greatly improved, especially the appearance of zinc-copper-titanium alloys, whose comprehensive mechanical properties have approached or reached that of aluminum alloys and brass And gray cast iron, its creep resistance has also been greatly improved. Therefore, zinc-copper-titanium alloy has been widely used in the production of small hardware.

(3) For casting zinc alloy

Mainly die-castings, used in automotive, light industry and other industries. Many zinc alloy ingots have excellent processing performance, and the pass processing rate can reach 60% -80%. Excellent medium-pressure performance, deep drawing, and self-lubrication, which prolongs the mold life. It can be welded by brazing or resistance welding or arc welding (required in helium), and the surface can be plated and painted. Good cutting performance. It has superior superplastic properties under certain conditions.

In addition, zinc has good resistance to electromagnetic fields. The electrical conductivity of zinc is 29% of that of standard electrical copper. In the case of radio frequency interference, zinc plate is a very effective shielding material. At the same time, because zinc is non-magnetic, it is suitable as a material for instrument parts and instrument housings and coins. At the same time, zinc itself and other metals will not spark, so it is suitable for underground explosion-proof equipment.

(4) Used in the manufacture of zinc oxide, accounting for about 11%

Zinc ingot for Chemical industries are widely used in rubber, coating, enamel, medicine, printing, fiber and other industries.

(5) Used in the manufacture of dry batteries, in the form of zinc cake and zinc plate, accounting for about 13%.

Zinc has suitable chemical properties. Zinc can interact with NH4CI and emit H + positive ions. Zinc-manganese dioxide batteries use this characteristic of zinc. The zinc alloy is used as the battery shell, which is not only a container for the battery electrolyte, but also participates in the battery reaction to form the anode of the battery. Its performance is also widely used in the pharmaceutical industry.
