Perfume Is Really Toxic!

The sense of smell is a kind of magical sensation that human beings are born with. It converts chemical signals into feelings. When we smell the fragrance of flowers, we will think of flowers, and when we smell the green scent of the ocean, we will think of the sea. But the smell you smell is probably not derived from rose or other plant extracts but made up of different artificial chemicals. In the promotion of perfumes, their names are rarely mentioned. Nicknames like hexamethylenetetramine cyclopentane benzopyrene obviously don't go with the romantic flavor of perfume, but it has been widely used in synthetic musk.

There are more than 600 chemical ingredients in perfume. Thinking of these, what appears before me is no longer a garden with roses in full bloom, a fresh and broad ocean, but a chemical laboratory full of test tubes and beakers. There are more than 4,000 chemicals used in the production of perfumes, 95% of which are extracted from petroleum, and many are potentially hazardous. Common ingredients in perfumes are acetone, ethanol, benzaldehyde, formaldehyde, limonene, methylene chloride, camphor, ethyl acetate, linalool, and benzyl alcohol. In addition, phthalates and synthetic musk are also commonly used in harmful ingredients. Although personal care products must list the ingredients, perfume can be kept secret as a secret-because they belong to the category of trade secrets. We do not know the potentially harmful chemicals hidden behind the labeled chemicals, and these chemicals are sprayed on our bodies and inhaled into our bodies every day.

Benzaldehyde

In 2018, the Hong Kong Consumers Association randomly checked 55 perfumes on the market, 15 of which contained highly allergenic fragrances. There is no shortage of brand-name perfumes such as Chanel, Gabriel, Tiffany, Armani, Valentino, and Parma Water. The content of some allergens even exceeds 3%.

1. Not everyone applies perfume. For safety reasons, you should not use any perfume during pregnancy. Don't let your body experience unnecessary wind and frost in order to cater to the aesthetics.

2. Once you find a similar allergic reaction, you must stop it. You must know that the beauty of your appearance is always no match for the immunity of the body.

3. Don't listen to people saying that you spray perfume on your wrists and behind your ears. In fact, this approach is incorrect. The correct way is to spray perfume on the clothes so that they touch the skin as little as possible.

4. Pay more attention to the ingredient list behind the perfume box. The composition list of perfume is generally not made public, but if it contains restricted allergenic ingredients and the residual concentration will exceed the standard value, the EU requires that it be marked on the package.
