Effect of Solution Treatment Temperature on of 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Plate

For 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Plate, three kinds of tensile and hardness samples were taken for each solution treatment temperature. The experimental results were averaged. The strength and hardness decreased from 1020 to 1250 °C, and the hardness and strength values were small at 1050 °C. Because the effect of solution treatment on the mechanical properties of 2205 Stainless Plate has two main factors: the degree of completion of tissue recrystallization and the degree of two-phase microstructure transformation. The higher the degree of recrystallization completion, the lower the strength and hardness. The higher the ferrite content at room temperature, the greater the hardness and strength, mainly the strength of the body-centered cubic ferrite structure at room temperature. The face-centered cube is the austenitic structure of the tissue. Therefore, the transformation of the austenite structure into the ferrite structure as the solid solution temperature increases will increase the strength and hardness of the steel.

The recrystallization finish of the sample at 1020 to 1050 °C has an effect on the tensile strength and hardness greater than the influence of the structural transformation on the strength and hardness, so the strength and hardness are reduced. The effect of recrystallization at 1080~1250°C on the strength and hardness of the sample is less than the influence of the microstructure transformation on the strength and hardness, so the strength and hardness increase with the increase of temperature.
