Isolation gowns and Protective Clothing are important barrier products for medical institutions to protect medical staff from contact with infectious agents. Basic definition


Isolation gown: protective equipment used to protect medical staff from being contaminated by blood, body fluids and other infectious substances, or to protect patients from infection.


Protective clothing: disposable protective equipment worn by clinical medical staff when they come into contact with patients with Class A or Class B infectious diseases managed under Class A infectious diseases.


According to different materials or purposes of use, it is divided into two categories: Disposable Isolation Protective Clothing and reusable protective clothing. The clinically commonly used protective clothing has two forms: split and conjoined.


Indications for use


Isolation clothing or protective clothing should be selected according to the needs of diagnosis and treatment. Isolation gowns should be open at the back to cover all clothes and exposed skin. Protective clothing should meet the requirements of GB 19082.


Isolation clothing should be worn in the following situations:


1. When contacting patients with infectious diseases spread by contact, such as patients with infectious diseases, patients with multi-drug resistant bacteria, etc.


2. When the patient is subjected to protective isolation, such as the diagnosis, treatment and nursing of patients with extensive burns and bone marrow transplant patients.


3. It may be splashed by the patient's blood, body fluids, secretions and excrement.


Entering key departments, such as ICU, NICU, protective isolation ward, etc., whether to wear isolation gowns should be based on the purpose of entry and contact with patients, or according to the internal regulations of the medical institution.


Wear protective clothing in the following situations:


1. When clinical medical staff are in contact with a type A infectious disease or a type B infectious disease patient managed as a type A infectious disease.


2. When contacting patients with infectious diseases spread by air or droplets, and may be splashed by the patient's blood, body fluids, secretions, and excrement.

1. When contacting multiple patients with similar infectious diseases, the isolation gown or protective clothing can be used continuously if there is no obvious contamination.


2. When contacting a suspected patient, the isolation gown or protective clothing should be changed between each patient.


3. Isolation Clothing or protective clothing should be replaced in time when it is contaminated by patients' blood, body fluids, or pollutants.


4. When the isolation clothing or protective clothing is damaged, it should be replaced in time.

How to wear isolation gown: wash your hands before wearing isolation gown; hold the collar with your left hand, stretch your right hand into the sleeve, pull the collar up with your left hand, exposing your right hand, change your right hand to hold the collar, stretch your left hand into the sleeve, expose your left hand, do not touch Face; hold the collar in both hands, buckle the neckband from the center of the collar along the edge, and gradually pull one side of the isolation garment (about 125px below the waist) forward, pinch the edge when you see it, pinch the other side in the same way At the edge, align the edges of the clothes with both hands at the back, fold it to one side, hold the fold with one hand, and pull the waistband to the fold at the back with the other hand, cross the waistband at the back, and tie the belt back to the front.


How to take off the isolation gown: Untie the belt and tie a slipknot in the front; fully expose your hands and disinfect your hands; unbutton the back of the neck, put your right hand into the sleeve of your left wrist, pull down the sleeve, and hold it with your left hand covered Use the right hand to isolate the outside of the sleeve of the garment, pull down the right sleeve; switch hands and gradually withdraw from the sleeve, take off the isolation garment, hold the collar with your left hand, align the two sides of the isolation garment with your right hand, and hang the pollution surface inward outside the contaminated area, after removing the isolation garment Hands should be washed.


Method of wearing protective clothing: Wash your hands before wearing protective clothing. When wearing conjoined protective clothing, you should follow the sequence of putting on the bottoms, then the top, then the hat, and finally the zipper.


Take off the protective clothing method: when taking off the protective clothing, pull the zipper to the end; take off the gloves and disinfect your hands; then lift the hat upwards to remove the hat from the head and take off the sleeves; take off the sides from top to bottom; Put it in a medical waste container until it is completely taken off; wash hands after taking off protective clothing.
