Leakage of LPG cylinders can lead to human poisoning and even fire or explosion. So how should we deal with these dangerous accidents? As a LPG cylinders supplier, I’d like to share it with you.

LPG Composite Cylinder

LPG Composite Cylinder

In Case of Leakage

1. When there is a leak, do not use a gas stove, just in case there is a leak. Turn off the regulator and burner knobs and open the kitchen window.

2. When a leak is found, first turn off the main power supply from the outside.

3. Since liquefied petroleum gas is heavier than air, it tends to settle on the bottom of the floor, so use ventilation devices as much as possible to disperse the gas

4. Turn off all flames, incense sticks and lights, and do not turn on or off any electrical switches/electrical appliances

In Case of Fire

When the LPG cylinder catches fire, don't panic, don't run outside holding the burning cylinder, don't splash it with water or cover it with a quilt, and don't pull the cylinder upside down and kick it out, causing the liquid in the bottle to flow out.

1. Close the valve quickly

First, the right angle valve on the gas cylinder should be quickly closed to cut off the gas outlet. If you have dry powder fire extinguishing agent, you can use dry powder to extinguish the fire first, and then close the right angle valve, but use a wet towel to put it on your hand before turning off the valve. , To prevent being burned or scalded. In many cases, people knocked over the bottle in panic, and the falling cylinder would cause the liquid gas to leak out through the right angle valve, pressure reducing valve or percutaneous tube, posing a greater threat. For gas cylinders that have fallen to the ground, find a way to straighten them and make them stand upright. If the right-angle valve cannot be closed for a while, you should not be busy extinguishing the fire. You should pour a lot of water on and around the bottle to cool down, and at the same time remove nearby combustibles.

2. Never knock the gas cylinder

Because the liquefied petroleum gas in the cylinder will flow out through the nozzle at this time, these liquids quickly expand into 250 to 300 times the gas to participate in the combustion. At this time, the high temperature generated by the strong flame will increase the internal pressure of the gas cylinder, which will cause the gas cylinder to deform and burst, resulting in an explosion. Therefore, if the gas cylinder is knocked over, it should be lifted up in time and the valve should be closed immediately. Although the flame can be extinguished with sand, dry powder fire extinguishing agent, etc., it cannot prevent the combustible gas in the cylinder from overflowing. At this time, pay attention to ventilation to avoid accumulation of liquefied petroleum gas. If the cylinder bursts and a large amount of liquefied petroleum gas escapes, a white misty gas layer will appear within a certain range. At this time, it is most important to cut off the fire source in this place and nearby to prevent explosion.

3. Call the fire calls number for help.

In the event of a fire, the safest way is to call the fire alarm to seek professional help.
