When you know how to reuse candlesticks, it's a breeze! We've put together this quick and easy guide with seven quick steps you can follow to bring any candle glass back to life.

1. When your candle has half an inch of wax left, it's a good time to say goodbye. All candle makers recommend not burning the last half inch as a safety precaution - otherwise, the glass could get too hot and crack. It also makes cleaning glass easier using our freezing method below, thanks to the nice solid wax block.

2. Remove tags

Simply peel the label off the front and bottom of the glass. Our compostable labels use low tack glue so they are easy to remove. Any remaining residue will be removed with some hot soapy water.

If you have to deal with sticky petroleum based glues. These sticky glues are best dissolved with rubbing alcohol.

3. Put the glass candle jar in the refrigerator

Put the candle in the refrigerator and let it sit for at least a few hours, but preferably a day or two. As the wax cools, it hardens and shrinks. This helps separate the wax from the glass, and it may come out as a solid puck in one go. Failing that, a harder consistency allows us to crack the wax easily in the next step.

4. Remove wax with knife

Use a dull knife to apply pressure to the edges of the wax. You don't want to cut into the wax, you want it to pop or break into small pieces like a hockey puck. Tap a puck or wax block onto some paper towels and throw them in the trash.

5. Remove residual wax

If you still have some residue, we want to remove any residues to avoid those residues running away. Baby oil or vegetable oil on a piece of tissue paper will help dissolve the remaining wax. Wipe the glass thoroughly. Note: Do not use any water alone; it will just spread any remaining wax without actually removing it, as wax and water do not mix easily.

6. Wash the candle jars

Now that you've removed most of the wax, clean the glass in the dishwasher or sink just like any other dish. If hand washing, we recommend scrubbing twice with soapy water and once with clean water before drying to ensure any remaining residue is emulsified.

7. You now have a brand new glass perfect for many wonderful uses

It can be used to store some small things, such as lipstick, hairpins, etc.; it can also be used to make decorations and place some flower arrangements; it can also be used to grow some small plants to add some vitality to life
