The difference between galvanized wire plating and hot plating?

Steel wire will simply rust in the air, water and soil and will completely destroy the iron products, so the iron wire will be made into electroplating or hot dip galvanized wire to do anti-corrosion treatment. Because zinc does not change colour easily in a dry environment, a fine film of basic zinc carbonate is formed on the surface in moist air, which protects the interior from corrosion. And when, for some reason, the coating is damaged and the steel base is not too large, zinc and steel collectively constitute a microbattery, so that the steel matrix becomes a cathode and is maintained. In life, wire plating is divided into electroplating wire and hot wire plating.

electro galvanized wire: also called cold galvanized wire; Is using electrolytic equipment fittings after degreasing, pickling, into the composition of zinc salt in the solution, and connect the cathode electrolytic equipment, on the other side placed zinco, connected to the anode electrolytic equipment, power supply is connected using current from the positive to the negative directional moving deposits a layer of zinc on the pipe fittings, electric galvanized wire is in the plating bath by current unipolarity zinc plating on metal surface, Production speed is slow, coating is uniform, zinc on galvanized wire is thin, usually only 3-15 microns, bright appearance, poor corrosion resistance.

Galvanized wire is mainly used in communication equipment, medical equipment and woven mesh, brush, steel cable, screen, high pressure pipe, construction, crafts and other industries.

Hot dip galvanized wire is a variety of high quality carbon steel or high quality carbon steel after pickling, phosphating, wire drawing, and then galvanized; Hot dip galvanizing is in hot melt zinc liquid dip plating, production speed, thick but uneven coating, the market allows the lowest thickness of 45 microns, up to 300 microns above. It is dark in color, consumes more zinc metal, forms infiltration layer with base metal, and has good corrosion resistance. Hot dip galvanizing can be maintained for decades in outdoor environment.

Because the amount of zinc on hot dip galvanized wire is thicker, hot dip galvanized has better protective performance than electric galvanized, so it is an important protective coating for iron and steel products used in harsh working environment. Hot dip galvanized products are widely used in chemical equipment, petroleum processing, Marine exploration, metal structure, power transmission, shipbuilding and other industries. In recent years, they have been widely used in agricultural fields such as pesticide irrigation, greenhouse and construction industry such as water and gas transmission, wire casing, scaffolding, Bridges, highway guardrail and other aspects.

Service life: the life of electroplated products is very short because of the thin zinc layer. In the short term, if pickling is insufficient and the air is humid, dezinc oxidation will occur in a few weeks. Depending on the thickness of the zinc layer, serious oxidation may occur in the next few years or decades.
