Three aspects that affect the graphite electrode consumption rate.

 

1. Raw material for ferroalloy furnace

► High fixed carbon content, slow consumption.

The higher the fixed carbon content of carbon material, the lower the charging ratio, the same quality of ferroalloy products, the less the carbon electrode reaction, the slower the electrode consumption.

►Less carbon, slower electrode consumption.

Less carbon material, less carbon material burn loss on the surface of the material, less red material on the surface of the material, small branch current, high resistance, electrode insertion charging depth oxidation slow, electrode carbon reaction less, slow consumption.

The lower the comprehensive grade of

► ore, the faster the electrode consumption.

The lower the charging taste, the more ore consumed to produce one ton of product, the more processes, the higher the electrode slurry consumed each time, and the faster the consumption.

The smaller the size of

► ore, the more powder, the faster the electrode consumption.

More small size material, powder, poor permeability of the material surface, material reddening, electrode furnace depth shallow, electrode oxidation consumption fast.

► Low recovery rate of charged metal leads to fast electrode consumption.

 

 

2. Product grade (electrode paste manufacturer)

The higher the product grade, the faster the electrode consumption.

The higher the product grade produced, the higher the ore and electricity consumption consumed to produce one ton of product, the higher the single consumption of electrode paste, the higher the single consumption of electrode paste, the faster the consumption of electrode paste.

 

3. Factors of process operation

❤The more auxiliary materials are adjusted, the faster the electrode consumption. When circuit aging, there is no carbon distribution, the electrode is directly involved in the reaction of the alloy in the crucible reaction area, and the consumption is quite fast.

❤The more dry firing and bright arc operations, the faster the electrode consumption. Both dry firing and open arc operations expose the electrode arc directly to the air, and the hot electrode carbon will come in contact with a large amount of oxygen in the air and will be rapidly consumed by oxidation.

❤The higher the active power, the more electricity is consumed and the faster the electrode is consumed. The diameter of each electric furnace is fixed. The more active power the electric furnace turns on, the more power it consumes. The more power it consumes, the faster the electrodes are consumed and the more pressure is released on the electrodes. Electricity, electrodes are basically not consumed.

❤The shorter the working end of the electrode, the faster the electrode consumes. The shorter the working end of the electrode, the shallower the depth of the electrode into the furnace chamber. The shallower the depth of the furnace chamber, the easier it is to open the arc, and the brighter the arc will accelerate the electrode oxidation consumption rate.

❤High voltage and low current operation, electrode consumption is fast. High voltage and low current, arc length is large, electrode into the furnace shallow, easy to produce bright arc, accelerate the electrode oxidation consumption speed.

❤Furnace bottom rise seriously, electrode consumption fast. If the ferroalloy furnace runs for a long time without overhauling the furnace, it will accumulate a lot of impurities in the bottom of the furnace, which will lead to the rise of the furnace bottom. When the furnace bottom rises, the furnace depth will become shallow, and the three-phase electrode will become shallow at the furnace depth. The oxidation consumption of the electrode and the index of the furnace will become worse. At this point, it is necessary to consider restarting the furnace after overhauling it.

The production of electrode paste requires heating to soften and shape the raw material. Normally, an electrode paste plant requires a gas generator for this process, and even after a coal-to-gas conversion, natural gas is still relatively expensive.

But our post-calcined coke production line can release a large amount of waste heat for use in the electrode paste production line.

Therefore, we save a lot of cost in heat generation compared to more general electrode paste manufacturers.
